Miss Abigail Jointed Wooden Doll, 9 inches
Offered is this lovely 9 inch wooden doll that is modeled after an original KPM China doll with side waves and a hanging looped bun on the back held in place by a gold comb.
Miss Abigail measures 9 inches tall and is fully jointed at the hips, knees, shoulders and elbows. Her flat slippers are painted a garner red. She is part of the 9 inch doll series which includes Sir William Arnold, a lovely period screen backdrop and a wooden table (you can see those in the last photo).
More dolls will be made in this series all with rare hairstyles of the 1840's.
She is dressed in a variety of dresses which are either a striped pink fabric with tiny flower print or a light and dark pink geometric pattern. Both of these dresses are made of antique material, hand-sewn and trimmed in tiny cotton lace. Beneath her dress she wears a cotton pinafore.
Since each doll is hand painted, there will be small variations in each doll.
Each doll is signed “C.S. Carver” for Charles Stuart Carver, the artist, and comes in its own decorated box with a laser engraved certificate of authenticity.
